In 2006, South Omaha will celebrate 120 years as first an independent city and then
as a community within the city of Omaha, Nebraska.
From its earliest years, South Omaha has drawn a diverse range of immigrants
including Irish, Czechs, Lithuanians, Polish, Bohemians, and Hispanics. The diverse
range of cultural representation has always made South Omaha a special place.
Today, residents representing several Latino countries call South Omaha home.
