The South Omaha Business Association, working closely with the City of Omaha, are excited
about a major renovation that is taking place on South Omaha's "main street" (24th St from L to Q).
The project includes widening the street to allow for angled parking, replacement of stoplights with stop
signs to slow traffic, a restructuring of the existing plaza to make it more conducive to
hosting special events, and a "facelift" that will give the walkways a new look.
The intent of the project is to showcase the diversity and culture of
South Omaha and to attract visitors to share in the vitality of the community.
The City of Omaha has engaged RDG Planning and Design of Omaha to work with the citizens
of South Omaha to create a vision for the planned renovation. Below are the artist's renderings (provided
by RDG Planning and Design) of the finished product.
